What it does

SciSpace (formerly Typeset) is a workspace for reading and reviewing scientific literature: upload or find a paper, highlight anything confusing — jargon, equations, dense methods — and get an explanation in context.

Its literature review tools pull multiple papers into comparison matrices, extracting fields across studies, backed by an index the company states at 280M+ papers.

The free tier offers limited copilot queries; Premium runs $12/mo on annual billing, with team and lab plans (about $20/user or $100/mo for five-plus seats) for research groups.

From the AXIS Launch team

The highlight-and-explain interaction meets readers exactly where comprehension breaks down, which makes it quietly one of the better learning tools wearing a research-tool label. If you're the maker: what share of your users are students versus practicing researchers, and does the product roadmap follow that split?
